Hisense Sero7 Pro
Hisense, better known in Australia for their range of TVs and home appliances, has today advised that they are entering the Android tablet market in Australia, announcing the 7″ Hisense Sero7 Pro tablet.

Hardware wise the tablet is described by Hisense as ‘category-leading processor performance, stunning screen quality and exceptional value’. While it’s certainly matching specs from the current leader of the 7″ tablet market – the Nexus 7 – it also includes extras such as a mini HDMI out, expandable storage and a 5MP Rear Camera.

Hisense Sero7 Pro Specifications :

  • 7″ 1280 x 800 IPS LCD display
  • 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-Core CPU
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8GB on-board storage, with microSD card slot up to 32GB
  • 5.0MP Rear Camera with flash and auto-focus and 2.0MP Front-Facing camera
  • Mini HDMI, SD, and USB ports
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • 10-hour battery life

The tablet is not one of the cheaper no-name tablets that can be purchased without the Play store installed. The Sero7 is Google Play certified, so all your usual Google Play Apps, Games and Media content will be available to use. Hisense are aiming a little broader with the Sero7 Pro, the tablet also aims to bring the concept of the connected home much closer to reality with an intuitive smart remote control system that controls compatible Smart TVs from the Hisense 2013 range.

Andre Iannuzzi, head of marketing, Hisense Australia took the opportunity to speak about launching the Sero7 Pro in Australia – ‘Hisense has stepped into a new category well prepared with a product that ticks all boxes a consumer has when they are looking for in an affordable tablet. Customers wary of jumping into a tablet purchase can rest assured the Sero 7 Pro is vigorous in its performance and heavy handed at entertaining.’

Mr Iannuzzi explained how they chose the Sero7 name ‘Hisense Australia is proud to have had the opportunity to give the Hisense tablet its name, Sero, latin for join, interweave and connect. We feel that this tablet strengthens our commitment to providing consumers with advanced devices that give the best bang for their buck.’

The Sero7 Pro has launched in the US already earlier this year at the US $149 price point and with specials on the Nexus 7 starting to become a regular occurence the pricing had better be just right. The 7″ Sero7 Pro will be available at Australian retailers such as JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys and BSR from the beginning of August, with pricing to be announced as we get closer to launch.
