Avoid the Laser MID-742 / MID-742B (1.2 GHz CPU, 4GB Mem, Android 4.0) at all costs. Had to return ours yesterday (27Dec14) after only a few days of testing. Dunno if the specific unit I grabbed was somehow faulty hardware-wise, but it performed very poorly, even considering it’s low specs. Unexpected process stoppages, reverting to bootup process and screen, freezing during various procedures, etc. Had to do 4 factory resets over a few days just to test, config a wifi connection, add a google account and attempt to update a few apps etc. — Instead got the newer Laser MID-735… Read more »

My daughter got a mid-741 kid for christmas and I cant figure out how to fix this error, Unfortunately, Childrens Playground has stopped, any help would be great. Its utterly useless.

Do not under any circumstances spend ANY money on this tablet, you’ll be left disappointed any utterly frustrated with the product’s inability to perform even the simplest of tasks. Want to open a browser? Nope, it’ll take several minutes just to load the app. Want to open a webpage in a browser? Forget it, put it down and come back an hour later and your page might be loaded. The WiFi speed on this device is absolutely dreadful, trying to use it for anything is a futile endeavour. Sometimes the device will trick you into thinking it’s working well by… Read more »

My MID-1040 had a defect 2 days after I purchased it. HN doesn’t want to know about it. I rang Laser, explained the situation. Laser rep said try HN again, if no joy, send it back. I ended send it back myself, $13 in postage, regular post. And 3 days later, they sent me back a brand new one, on express courier. Thanks Laser for standing by your product. Picture quality is not as good as ipad/samsung. But the internal speaker is clearly audible at reading range. Unlike Thomson, Amicroe or Pendo Pad that requires an earphone. Good enough for… Read more »

Never ever buy this brandname, very bad quality , totally disappointing

They really need to do something about that logo. I remember buying Laser brand blank CDs at the computer fairs in the 90s and thinking it had a comically 80s style logo even then.
