Hisense is also at CES and has announced a whole slew of Android based products for 2014, including tablets, Smartphones and a new interface that use Android to power their line of Smart TVs.
Hisense has been quite active in Australia, releasing Appliances and electronics in a variety of retailers and while historically we haven’t seen much in the way of Android devices announced by Hisense at CES actually released in Australia – the Hisense Sero 7 Pro being the first – we hope that we might actually see some more from Hisense this year based on there products they’ve announced this year.
First up, Hisense have announced the 6.8″ X1, a massive screened phone that borders on being a tablet. The 6.8″ screen of the X1 has a 1080p resolution and is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, it has 2GB of RAM and a 13MP camera on the rear as well as a 5MP front-facing camera and being so big, you can expect a big battery which weighs in at 3900mAh and it runs Android 4.3 with a slight skin over the top.
Whether we see this phone outside of Hisense’s home market of China is the question , and at this stage it’s doubtful but we would be willing to give it a shot, if they do.
HiSense also advised there are plans to refresh their tablet range, with rumours circulating of a possible 8″ version being added to their range, but we’ll have to wait and see for further details on these devices down the track, as will we have to wait and see if they will be released here in Australia.
Finally, and this is where it gets interesting, Smart TV’s. Hisense has announced that they are introducing a new Android based UI for their Vision branded Smart TVs.
Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing for Hisense Australia advises that the Vision Smart TVs will feature a ‘naturally easy to use UI’ that Hisense has developed to get it ‘just right’ when it comes to the user experience – something that has been lacking from other Smart TV’s so far imho – and navigating through content should be a breeze.
As well as an easy to use interface, the Vision series TVs will feature a new remote control, which will feature a microphone button that will allow for voice control of the TV.
The Vision series of TVs will be launching here in Australia in the first half of 2014, with more details on specific models that will lauch as the release date gets closer.

Very very interested in this, its gotta be done right though. I’ve purchase android “media players” before and a lot of stuff just doesn’t translate to the big screen I.E. Geoblocked apps
Ben I have a MINIX Neo X7 and my experience is polar opposite. The media later is awesome with XBMC/MX player @ 1080p, streaming, gaming and Skype. Perhaps your experience is not current. Only flaw was stock remote. However with air mouse or Android so this is remedied. Make sense to get these features for approx $130 than part a premium on smart TVs whose functionality is clunky and unreliable
