LG L80
LG has listed the third in their current range of L Series phones available in Australia. The LG L80, is again a 3G only phone aimed at the budget market, but comes with features from their higher end phones and a large 5″ display.

The phone itself is fairly basic in terms of specs, with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor powering the phone and 1GB of RAM. The L80 has got basic storage clocking in at just 4GB, but also carries a microSD card slot to expand that out a bit. The 2540mAh battery though could just about see you through a full day of use though, so that’s a pretty decent inclusion.

LG L80 (D380) Specs:

  • 5.0″ WVGA (480 x 800) Display
  • 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4GB on-board storage with microSD Card slot
  • 5MP Rear Camera with LED Flash and 0.3MP Front-facing camera
  • Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE (APT-x), A-GPS
  • Radios (Dual-SIM)
    • 2G: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
    • 3G: 850/900/2100 MHz
  • Android 4.4.2 Kitkat
  • 2540mAh Battery

LG has of course filled their L series with software features which originated in their higher end phones. Features such as Multipoint Autofocus on the camera and Knock Code security.

The phone is available in Black and White and carries a RRP of $299. The LG L80 is currently showing as available at Dick Smith for $299, but AllPhones are advertising the phone for $289. If you’re after the current cheapest price, check out Big W’s latest catalogue where it’s showing for $278.

The L80 isn’t probably the best value for money, with phones like the new Moto G now entering the market, it’s also a hard sell with 4G phones becoming the norm in the Australian market. Nevertheless, if you’re in the market for an LG phone you can see it in full at those stores or on the LG Website.

The new 3G Moto G beats this LG without breaking a sweat.
Why would anyone buy this budget device, when they could have a mid level device for the same price?
