UPDATE: Bing Lee have the Black LG G Pad 16GB 10.1-inch for $299 in-store or delivered for an extra $5 flat fee shipping.

Harvey Norman have one of their  “Hot Deals” on an LG G Pad 10.1-inch 16GB tablet at the moment where you can pick one up for $348 for a limited time.

The original price these tablets were selling for was around $400 which was well above the $249USD they were selling for in the US. At least with this hot deal it brings it down to a more reasonable price for a tablet with low to mid range specs.

It looks like the deal is for the red tablet only but check your local Harvey Norman Store to see if they have any black ones in stock.

The G Pad 10.1 is powered by a 1.2 GHZ Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 SoC, with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal Storage, but will support microSD Cards up to 32GB. The tablet includes an 8,000 mAh battery, which will give up to 8 hours of battery life. There’s all manner of connectivity options included Wifi 820.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, GPS.

It comes with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) out of the box but will hopefully get an update to 4.4.3 or straight to 4.4.4 some time in the future.

I’ve never actually seen a LG G Pad 10.1-inch tablet in a Harvey Norman or any retail store for that matter, so if you’re interested in getting one of these probably best to check the store stock on-line and double check with a phone call to the store before heading in-store.

With the Nexus 8/9 on the horizon, even with a $50 – $100 discount, the G Pad 10.1 is still going to be a hard sell, are you interested in the LG G Pad 10.1?

Not even at this price. I was originally going to buy one to go with my LG G2 but reports were that the screen is very poor outside which is where I was going to use it a lot. Definitely hanging on for the new Nexus tablet.
