PendoPhone 4.7

Pendo, better known for their cheap tablets which are available through various retailers and telco’s such as Dodo, have entered the Australian smartphone market with their very own PendoPhone 4.7″ with 4G.

The PendoPhone 4.7″ with 4G isn’t going to wow with high end specs but is instead aiming for the mid range budget conscious consumer, does offer some decent specs.

The full list of specs include:

  • 4.7″ IPS Display (720 x 1280)
  • Dual Core 1.2GHz processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4GB Storage (2GB left for user memory), expandable to 32GB
  • 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front facing
  • Android 4.2
  • Radios:
    • 2G: 850/900/1800/1900
    • 3G: 850/900/2100
    • 4G: Bands 1/3/7/8/20
  • WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS
  • 2000mAh lithium battery

It is sad that the device is running Android 4.2 and it is unlikely that the phone will receive an update to either bring it to Android 4.4.x or Android Lollipop (5.0) when it becomes available.

The PendoPhone 4.7″ with 4G is available to purchase outright and unlocked from the Pendo website for $349 with Dodo also offering the same outright price or on one of their many plans over 24 months which are listed below:

Would you really buy this over the moto g?

Wouldn’t even consider this over the Moto E.

After having the misfortune of owning a pendo pad I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole.

Google needs to ban Pendo devices from being permitted to access any and all Google Android services, until Pendo starts shipping all their devices with the current standard version of Android. Right now, that means Android KK 4.4.3, and not JB 4.2.x

Considering it actually looks a hell of a lot like the Alcatel OneTouch Idol phones, it wouldn’t surprise me if Pendo is another name for Alcatel. Plus Jenny you should know, there are many bigger manufacturers (ala Samsung, Sony, Huawei, ZTE) who release phones that are either Android 4.2. or 4.3 or even 4.4. Google is trying to standardise them but its hard with so many manufacturers at the end of the day

Maybe I’ve watched the Inbetweeners too much but I keep seeing ‘PaedoPhone’
