Andy Rubin, known widely as the founder of Android, before it was even purchased by Google and became the gargantuan king of the Mobile world, is leaving Google.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Mr Rubin will be leaving Google to start ‘an incubator for startups interested in building technology-hardware products’. Andy Rubin certainly had a profound effect on Google and Android, Google CEO Larry Page acknowledged this in a statement :

I want to wish Andy all the best with what’s next. With Android he created something truly remarkable-with a billion plus happy users. Thank you.

Andy Rubin, hasn’t actually been a part of Android for some time, stepping away from Android to move into Google’s robotics division in March last year, at which time Sundar Pichai stepped into the Android role. According to Google a research scientist named James Kuffner, will take over the robotics group, which has been acquiring robotics companies like Boston Dynamics since Mr Rubin took over last year.
