Polaroid socialmatic

Announced over a year ago at CES 2014, the Polaroid Socialmatic Android camera has officially hit the Australian Polaroid website. The Socialmatic isn’t cheap though, so be prepared to pay $499.95 + delivery to get your hands on one. Polaroid is advising taht the Socialmatic will being arriving in February.

Whilst the concept of the Socialmatic is there, it incorporates the retro styled instant photography which Polaroid in their day once embodied, sadly the $500 price-tag is quite steep given the camera’s mediocre specs. The Socialmatic does have a fairly decent 14MP rear camera though so it has that going for it, but as an Android device, it’s fairly disappointing.

  • 4.5-inch LCD touchscreen
  • 4GB of storage – can be expanded via microSD card to 32GB
  • 14 MP rear facing camera – 2MP front facing
  • Wifi, Bluetooth & GPS
  • Remote Printing Capabilities
  • ZINK Zero Ink printing technology
  • 2″x3″ Zink Instant Filters feature a sticky back for easy posting on most surfaces
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion battery

The Socialmatic camera will be available in two colours: Black or White. If you’re interested in purchasing the Polaroid Socialmatic Camera, you can head over to the Polaroid Australia website and check it out.
