Announced at CES earlier this month, the LG G Flex 2 is a monster in terms of specs. Carrying the latest Snapdragon 810 processor, the phone has a lot to offer, but a recent report that Samsung had dropped the Snapdragon 810 due to overheating issues, has led LG to announce they’re not seeing any of these issues.
At a press event for the G Flex 2 in South Korea, Woo Ram-chan, LG vice president for mobile product planning advised assembled reporters
I am very much aware of the various concerns in the market about the (Snapdragon) 810, but the chip’s performance is quite satisfactory
The G Flex 2 is due to start shipping on the 30th of January in South Korea, and with that date in mind it’s obviously in the best interests of LG to try and allay fears in the lead up to the launch. Likewise, with Samsung choosing to use their own in-house Exynos processor instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, it’s in their best interests to upsell their own processor.
The G Flex 2 has still not been confirmed to launch here in Australia, but given how much we enjoyed using the first one, we certainly would like to see it here.
