ZX2
Sony’s latest walkman, launched at CES in January has finally arrived in Australia with a suitably hefty price in tow. The Sony Walkman NWZX2 is now showing on the Sony Australia website, although it’s not actually available to purchase.

At CES, the newly updated Walkman drew great attention for its high-end specs, as well as the corresponding high-end price. With a launch price of US$1119.99 it was always going to be expensive when it arrived on our shores and Sony haven’t disappointed with the NWZX2 priced at $1,599.00 – although if you order from the Sony Australia website you will get free shipping.

The ZX2 has a completely Walkman style design, with no touches of the popular Xperia Z smartphone design language – although both products run Android. But while the Xperia Z series are running a relatively recent versions of Android – and are about to be updated to Android 5.0 – the ZX2 is running a nearly 3-year old version of Android, with Android 4.2 coming installed on the unit.

There’s a lot to like about the Sony NWZX2 though, with a heap of beautifully crafted audio components included and a lot of space to fill with those loss-less audio tracks that the audio-philes who covet this device all love. The full spec list is definitely impressive, including:
