SamMobile reported a little while ago that Samsung as looking at expanding its Galaxy J line of smartphones and overnight it seems the China Industry and Information Technology unit, TENAA, has published specifications and images of the Galaxy J5 and J7.

The certification body confirms the previous rumours that Samsung is gearing up to launch the two mobiles as it seeks the necessary and required regulatory process in what is a key market for the company.

So here is what we know about both smartphones.

The Galaxy J5 has a 5.0-inch display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be extended via MicroSD and also contains a 2600mAh battery. The J5 will feature a 13MP rear camera sensor and 5MP front camera.

The Galaxy J7 has a 5.5-inch display which will be powered by a 1.4GHz Marvel PXA1936 processor with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Like the J5, the J7 will have 5MP front and 13MP rear camera setup, but is powered by a larger 3000mAh battery with the J7 dimensions coming in at 7.9 mm thin at 170 grams.

Both phones will run Android 5.0.2 out of the box, which is good news in a way. At the time of the report both from TENAA and SamMobile where not able to get any indication of when the Galaxy J5 or J7 will be launching or to which markets they will become available to, but it could be suspected that Australia will see both smartphones given their lonely little brother, the Galaxy J1 has been available here for a few months now through Optus Pre-Paid.

Of course we will just have to wait and see when Samsung will make the announcement and of course we here at Ausdroid will keep you up to date on the progress as it happens.
