It’s time for the monthly look at Android version distribution across the world – specifically the Google Android version distribution, because these numbers don’t take into account devices not hitting Google Play. The good news is that Google’s current favourite Androdid child – Marshmallow, is now playing with 1.2% of Android devices out there.
Hitting the 1% mark is a milestone, but that’s not the only news, Froyo has also seen movement for the first time in months dropping to just 0.1% market share. The rest of the versions mostly saw decline in usage, with Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean (all three versions) and Kit Kat all dropping in market share as well. Lollipop and Marshmallow have picked up the gains this time around.
