Huawei 2
Huawei is on somewhat of a roll of late, with some absolutely stunning hardware coming out in the form of the P8, G8, Mate 8 and of course, our phone of 2015, the Huawei Nexus 6P. But it’s time to refresh their hardware and first up is the Huawei P9, set for a post-MWC launch. Purported images of the phone have leaked and it’s looking pretty good.

The group shots of the phone, show the P9 in White, Gold, Pink and Grey colour options, though from previous Huawei launches we usually only see selected colour options launching in specific markets – I still want a Pink P8. The hardware looks fantastic, as has been the case for previous releases and shows off the rumoured dual-camera setup.

The leak only give us close-ups of the White, Gold and Pink colours, though the grey is pretty nice looking from that group shot.

Internally, we’re expecting that dual-camera setup to include dual 12MP sensors on the rear and 8MP sensor on the front which will be powered by an in-house developed 64-bit Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 955 SoC possibly clocked as high as 2.5GHz. The screen is very likely going to be a sturdy 5.2″ FullHD (1920×1080) display and you’ll get through the day on a 2,900mAh battery.

Rumours at this stage point to a 4GB RAM model, though Huawei has traditionally done two versions of their P series depending on market. With that history it’s possible we could see a 3GB RAM/16GB storage and 4GB RAM/32GB storage options – but we can always hope for 64GB.

There’s a press event at Mobile World Congress for Huawei, but at the moment the smart money is on a post MWC announcement for the Huawei P9. We’ll have to wait and see what happens in just under a week to find out.

Spec wise it looks like a great phone, aesthetically it’s a shame it looks like iPhone4.
