After announcing a series of new vehicles this year such as the 2016 Captiva and the ultra-affordable Spark, which include the upgraded MyLink infotainment system with Android Auto (and Apple CarPlay), Holden has today shown off the new Colorado which is set to hit our shores later this year.

The updated Colorado which was shown off first in Brazil today, is the result of a joint collaboration between Holden and Chevrolet, shows updated design stylings which pay homage to the US ‘truck’ culture. The new ute also has updated safety features and advanced connectivity.

The newly updated Colorado will include a re-designed centre console, which Holden says also includes an updated MyLink infotainment system that will again feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system is this time using an 8″ colour touchscreen that will make the system easier to use.

Of the Colorado, Holdenโ€™s Executive Director โ€“ Sales, Peter Keley, said

With significant local engineering, this vehicle will be the most refined Colorado ever while maintaining all of the capability of the current model. When combined with a new design that balances elegance and strength, it will perfectly bridge the gap between weekday workhorse and weekend explorer.

It will also follow the lead set by Spark, Captiva and Insignia VXR, boasting advanced technology features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in a new Holden MyLink infotainment system.

Scott took a look at the updated MyLink infotainment system with Android Auto integration when he attended Holden’s Technology and the future of mobility day earlier this year.

The new and improved 2017 Colorado will go on sale in Australia later this year, with pricing and availability to be announced closer to launch.
