huawei-mate-9-photo-01

We have seen quite a few details for the Huawei Mate 9 leak in the past weeks, most recently a week ago when we saw Evan Blass leak the phone renders and price. Today, just a couple of days out from what is expected to be the official announcement of it the Mate 9 and leaked again. This time we see what look like review-type images leaked by Finland Mobile.

The images do not give any more information on top of what we already know/suspect. The images display the dual cameras along with a fingerprint scanner on the back, a headphone jack at the top of the device and on the bottom two grills that may have stereo speakers in them (or there may just be a single speaker ala Google Pixels) and a USB -Type-C connector.

From previous leaks we know that the Mate 9 will arrive in various colours and storage options of 256GB paired with 6GB of RAM, 128GB paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB paired with 4GB of RAM. With the standard version sporting a 5.9″ 1080P display, Kirin Octa-Core processor, microSD slot (because 256GB is not enough?) and USB-C. With prices set to be around $600-900 for the standard version it will be interesting to see what the Pro version retails for, assuming we see it here in Australia. The Pro version is aimed to be Daydream VR compatible. The Mate 9 is expected to arrive with Android 7.0 with EMUI 5.0 overlay.

As said earlier, Huawei is hosting an event in Germany on 3 November where they are expected to announce the Mate 9. My hand is still up to review this device when it arrives on our shores. Anyone else interested?

The price range is so affordable with premium quality. My old Nexus 6p is so brilliant with good manufacturer quality.

Your kidding right to buy this phone outright is 1300.00 AUD that’s not affordable for what is still a Chinese phone ,that’s a rip off . Under one thousand is more like it under eight hundred is affordable .no phone is worth 1300AUD they are out dated within months with new models coming out so frequently.

Come on, it’s 600 – 900 range, not 1300.

Hey what’s wrong with Chinese phone? So what’s phone is good in your mind? Korean phones? OMG, exploded Samsung phone and poor quality LG phone.

The OS….

TT

OS so what? It has Android system with some customisations same as all other manufacturers do. I even think it’s UI is much better than the ugly touchwiz

So which arm of the party do you work for ? or do you work for

Huawei ?

It is a nice phone and probably well made but so are many others. you are over defensive of the product, it can stand on it’s own as I am sure it will turn out to be rather good.

I am working in an Australian based local company even not telecom related. I am just a smart phone consumers. So please don’t think all people are as narrow as you. So why I said Huawei phone is good? Because I used Nexus since Nexus 4 and for all manufacturers even include Pixel’s HTC and I found d Huawei’s manufacturer quality is the best of all. Also my friends use Huawei phone have quite positive opinions. At least now, it’s the third smartphone manufacturers in the world. I don’t think it will take so long for Huawei to catch up… Read more »

Looks just like every other android and my mate seven which is now past its use by date so what’s the big deal about this one looks as boring as the new Google pixel phone at least make it edge to edge glass if your trying to be different .1300 bucks no thanks I’ll wait for the xaoimi full screen bezel less phone leaves this for dead

Very interested in theis device, looks and sounds great. I would buy the Mate 8 at the moments as its selling for $598 but runs Marshmellow. A phone this size needs Nougat and split screen capabilities to take advantage of the big screen.

Coolstan

Huawei has had split screen multi-tasking since Emui 3.1. So it’s nothing new.comment image i

Did not known that and no one mentioned it in any reviews of the mate 8. Thanks. Might have got the Mate 8 sooner if i had known, now with the mate 9 around the corner i will wait for the mate 9.
