With Presto closing up shop in January, Foxtel is making a renewed pitch to former Presto customers to have them come across to the Foxtel Play streaming service, rather than jumping across to one of the competitors. From today, Foxtel is offering Presto subscribers a two week free trial of Foxtel Play, and access to Foxtel Play’s Pop and Movies tiers for just $15 per month for the first three months.

For those unfamiliar with Foxtel Play’s offerings, the Pop tier includes some of Foxtel’s most popular content including Game of Thrones, Westworld, Wentworth, and others. There’s also the Binge channel which includes True Blood, Walking Dead, and more, so you can catch up on the entire story to date. The Movies tier, as the name might imply, includes all of Foxtel’s movie channels.

Foxtel Play offers much of the traditional cable- and satellite-backed channels, including a range of entry-level tiers, such as the Drama and Pop packs priced at $15 per month each or $25 for both, plus Lifestyle, Documentary and Kids packs for $10 each per month, plus the Movies tier for an additional $20 per month; and the Sports tier for an extra $29 per month.

The pricing quickly adds up, and is roughly on par with the cable and satellite options, without the need for actual physical installation; great for renters, or those who aren’t within the cable or satellite footprint. Probably the only shame for us coming from an Android viewpoint is that there’s no Chromecast support, so you have to watch it on your phone, tablet, computer, or (one of the few) compatible TVs.

Current Presto subscribers should keep an eye out for a promo code, which they can then redeem at www.foxtelplay.com.au/presto.

You forgot to mention that Foxtel Play is SD quality while all its competitors are HD. Watching Westworld or GoT on Play is not a great experience. And of the course the 2 week trial is open to all new customers.

You actually just reminded me. I signed up to Presto for the one month free trial and will cancel before payment is due. I was going to wait till the end of the month to do it but I thought they might remove the one month free trial any day now.
