The V8 Supercars season kicks off this weekend with the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. The V8 Supercars has this week launched their 2017 app for the upcoming season packed with heaps of features and covering the V8 Supercars, the Dunlop Super2 Series and the upcoming SuperUtes series.

The app is designed to compliment the V8 Supercars website and social media channels like Facebook and Twitter, and offers fans at home, as well as fans attending the events across the 2017 season an array of great features.

The app offers all users breaking news, videos, images, and of course all the information on all events this season. You can even get stats and information on the teams and drivers from Supercars.com fed directly into your app. Fans attending V8 Supercars events at tracks across Australia and New Zealand will also get access to interactive precinct maps, track schedules, day planners and event experiences – though what these experiences are isn’t clear.

That’s the free stuff, and of course there’s an In-App Purchase option. For $9.99 for the 12 month season, fans will get access to a unique multi-screen experience with live 3D car tracking, extensive timing information and access to the live Coates Hire Leaderboard.

Supercars Chief Executive Officer James Warburton said of the app launch

The introduction of the Supercars App for 2017 will allow more people to connect with our sport and continues to strengthen our digital footprint. This will greatly enhance the fan experience both at home and at the race track, offering more information that can be consumed in real time, with all the action in a heartbeat.

The app is available in Google Play (or the iOS app store) to download right now. If you’re a motor racing fan, this is a good app to get your hands on.

You must sign in to use this app. Very disappointing.
Could Ausdroid please start mentioning quite clearly in your app articles when this is the case.
