Samsungs first Galaxy Unpacked event for 2017 at the end of this month will finally give us our first official look at the Galaxy S8 (and S8+), while most of us won’t be in New York for the actual event, Samsung is trying to make it as easy as possible to get the info and that includes launching an app.

The Unpacked 2017 app is live now in Google Play, offering you ‘everything you need to know about Samsung Unpack’. The app is for both people tuning in from home, as well as those attending the event offering them fast checking at the event.

By itself, the app provides a countdown timer to the event, as well as details, including location, date and time of the New York main event and the satellite event in London. Attendees can actually sign up with their registration code, but since we don’t have one of those we can’t quite tell you what happens once you enter it. You can also check out videos, including the teaser video Samsung used to announce the event at Mobile World Congress.

The event will be live streamed through the Samsung Mobile YouTube page on March 29th — March 30th at 2am AEDT here in Australia — and presumably in this app as well where it will possibly end up with Cardboard compatability like it did last year. In the meantime, you can download this app from Google Play and check it out.
