If you’re not quite ready to buy an Oppo R9 (or R9 Plus), there’s possibly a reason to wait with the Oppo R11 apparently almost ready to launch.

In a new leak, the Oppo R11 has shown up in a grainy television commercial showing a fairly cheesy setup involving two actors photographing a street performance. The R11 is going to be photography focused with this the first phone in the R series to feature dual-cameras on the rear.

According to rumour, that dual-camera will be complemented by a 20MP front-facing camera, which will sit above a 5.5″ FullHD (1920×1080) resolution display. According to a GFXBench leak from a while back, the R11 could possibly come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, which given Oppo’s history should be bolstered by an option to add a microSD card.

That same GFXBench leak points to the R11 running Android 7.1.1, though in ‘Oppo Edition’ which will obviously be ColorOS. With the demise of Project Spectrum, we don’t unfortunately expect any official vanilla builds to appear.

Based on the title card at the end of the commercial, plus the phones used in it, we expect the phone to come in three colour options: Black (possibly dark grey), as well as Pink and Gold.

Oppo has been releasing their R-series phones here in Australia, so it’s likely we’ll see this one launch when they’re actually ready to say something official. But don’t worry, we’ll be asking Oppo about the R11 coming to Australia as soon as they do.
