What used to be Nexus leaks are now Pixel leaks, and it’s that time of year where they start to run rampant. We’ve already seen a render of the Pixel XL 2, but here’s a 3D render of the phones based on CAD designs courtesy of leaker @onleaks who has a long history of sourcing these specs.
The renders show the phones from every angle in a rendered 3D environment. The phones show the smaller glass area on the rear housing a larger camera sensor – note: no dual-camera setup here – that has a definite camera bump. The fingerprint sensor is again on the rear in the centre, just below the glass panel this time. The other takeaway is the lack of headphone jack if you care about that sort of thing.
The front we can see the display again taking up more room with less bezels on the front, a welcome change of pace for the Pixel design. The team at MySmartPrice (Gear) have rendered the phone in black based on specs from @onleaks, though they advise that ‘several’ colour options are apparently being discussed by Google.
The Pixel 2 will measure in at 145.3 x 69.3 x 7.8 mm (8.2 with camera bump) while the Pixel XL 2 will measure in at 157.6 x 76.3 x 7.9 mm (8.6 with camera bump).
We’re hearing rumours that the Pixel phones will run the Snapdragon 836 processor, which if the SD835 is anything to go by will be pretty darn good. Beyond that, we’re pretty much in the dark at this stage as far as internals go.
We’ll likely be seeing these phones a lot more in the lead up to launch, so stay tuned for any more leaks.
I would hate it if the camera bump is there and is that pronounce. They better be IP67 water resistant this time
