Vodafone’s change in the way they do plans has led to a little more clarity in handset pricing and it looks like the Huawei P10 and Mate 9 are both excellent value, dropping down to a mere $699.

The Huawei Mate 9 launched here in Australia back in January for $999 outright, while the P10 hit our shores back in May for $899 – so a drop to $699 for both is fairly significant.

Vodafone now sells phones on interest free plans if you want to sign up for a plan with them. You can also purchase them outright from their Phones Website .

The handsets are the top end of their classes with the P10 aimed at the high-end consumer, while the Mate 9 is more aimed at the high-end business users. They both have a fresh, individual design and high-end specs and impressed the pants of both Chris when he reviewed the P10, and Scott when he checked out the Mate 9.

If you’ve been holding off for a new handset, the P10 and Mate 9 are both great options to check out. There is rumours that the Mate 10 is being announced in October, but we’re still waiting on an invite for that event.

Can phones be bought outright from Vodofone? I don’t see any way on their website.

Chris Rowland

You can certainly buy them outright in stores, though each store is likely to implement that a bit differently. It’s a lot easier if you’re an existing customer, too.
