With the increasing proliferation of USB-C as a charging standard on mobile devices, it’s high time that we see some major USB-C batteries. Australian accessories manufacturer Cygnett has today announced a big 20,000 mAh battery with USB-C output that can keep everything charged.

Cygnett’s ChargeUp pro features 2 USB-A outputs, and a USB-C port that can be used for both charging the battery and charging devices. That USB-C port supports Power Delivery, meaning that the battery can charge the latest laptops (like a MacBook Pro, Dell XPS, HP Spectre, etc) or even a Nintendo Switch – as well as modern smartphones, of course.

The battery can automatically detect which device it’s plugged into and deliver the fatest and safest charge possible. The 20,000 mAh capacity is good for multiple charges for your smartphone or tablet, and support for Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 should help older devices.

It’s all wrapped up in a 171 x 102mm that’s 1.5cm deep – a good, compact size for such a high capacity battery – with LEDs to show capacity so you can tell when (eventually) you need to recharge. There’s also a soft-touch finish, in blue or black. It’s a little bit taller, but shorter than a Nintendo Switch:

The high capacity would certainly make the battery useful for keeping devices charged during air travel or camping. While it’s especially useful for long periods away from AC power, it’s also going to be very useful for those of us with laptops AND phones with USB-C charging.

The Cygnett ChargeUp runs $169.95 and is available from a few retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and Kogan, direct from Cygnett (and more).
