It is a little disappointing that both devices are launching with the same Android version – Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow – given that we are now currently at Android Version 8.0 (Oreo).
That said, if you are wanting either a cheap spare device or are looking for a cheap phone to use everyday for your kids, then the X Spirit or Alcatel A3 could be what you’re looking for.
The Optus X Spirit is available to purchase through your local Optus “Yes” store or online for $99, whilst the Alcatel A3 is available at the retail price of $149.
It is worth mentioning that both devices are network locked to the Optus network and unlocking fees will apply. You will need to contact Optus directly for more information in relation to these network unlocking fees.
