Google has today announced new security settings in Google WiFi aimed at helping your protect your family. Called Site Blocking, the feature will let you block access to non-kid-friendly websites.

It’s often tough being a parent in this busy world, so Site Blocking will take at least part of the worry away when your child accesses the internet. Site Blocking automatically blocks access to more than 8 million non-kid-friendly websites once activated and it’s easy to do with just a few taps in the Google Wifi app.

The list of sites blocked is derived from the ‘SafeSearch’ feature that Google has been utilising in Google Search since it was introduced back in 2009. SafeSearch automatically blocks sites and is updated in real time by the SafeSearch team.

The Site Blocking feature will be going live in the Google Wifi app over the next few days, so keep an eye out for that one.
