They’re almost here. After unleashing Gen 2 Pokémon from the Johto region in February, Niantic Labs has today announced that Gen 3 Pokémon will start appearing this Halloween.

Pokémon such as Gastly, Drowzee, Cubone, and other spooky Pokémon will return in force again this Halloween, but they’ll be bringing friends from the Hoenn region including Sableye, Banette, and a few other Ghost-type Pokémon, with more Pokémon first seen in the Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire games due arrive in December.

A special edition Pikachu will be there, this time with a Halloween costume (Pikachu will get another hat), joining the existing Santa, Party and Ash Ketchum hat editions of the character. Remember to collect candy to upgrade it to a special edition Raichu, or hatch a baby Pichu with a special edition hat too.

A new costume option for your avatar will be available as well, with Mimikyu’s Disguise Hat appearing in the dress options.

For anyone wandering around with their buddy Pokémon you’ll find candy rewards doubled for the event, and catching, hatching and transferring Pokémon also nets you twice the Candy.

Special in-game purchases will also be on offer with raid passes and Super Incubators on-sale.

The event begins at 6am AEDT tomorrow morning (October 21st) and runs through until 7am AEDT on November 3rd, get on out there and catch them all!
