It’s official, Samsung will announce the Galaxy S9 on February 26th according to the invites being sent out this afternoon, at an event set to take place on February 26th at 4am AEDT.

The invites are being sent to media who will be attending the event on February 25th in Barcelona, Spain as well as Samsung fans back in Australia (and around the world) who will be able to tune in via a live stream of the event.

The invite is pretty clear with the use of the ‘9’ and is teasing a big change in the camera setup on the Galaxy S9 using the tagline ‘The camera. Reimagined’. What they mean by that could refer to the Galaxy S9 using a variable aperture, or the rumoured use of a dual-camera setup on the Galaxy S9+.

Samsung Australia has set up a landing page asking interested parties to register their details to be one of the first to know of any announcements from Samsung Australia.

Ausdroid will be on the ground in Barcelona to check out the Samsung launch, so if you have questions stay tuned to find out more about the latest and greatest from Samsung in the early hours of February 26th.
