It never rains, but it pours. It seems the Pixel 3 rumour train has well and truly left the station with new information coming overnight about the upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

The latest from a report from Bloomberg says that the new phones will, like previous generations have decidedly different looks.

The larger Pixel 3 XL will include a ‘nearly edge-to-edge screen, except for a thicker bezel known as a chin at the bottom of the phone’. The report also confirms the phone will have a notch seen in earlier leaks of the screen protectors. The smaller Pixel 3 won’t have the edge-to-edge display or notch.

The Pixel 3 XL, as seen in that previous leak, will include ‘two camera lenses on the front of the phone inside of the notch’.

Finally, Bloomberg says that the manufacturer of both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL won’t be either LG, nor HTC who Google invested in quite heavily last year, instead it will be Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., more commonly known as Foxconn.

The manufacturer and display hardware info is backed up by Roland Quandt of WinFuture.de who tweeted :

The Snapdragon 845 platform is no surprise to anyone, with Google generally picking up the highest end System on Chip for their Pixels for the past two years.

The earlier launch window of August or September ties in with mutterings we’ve heard of an earlier launch event than the October 4th ‘Made by Google’ event we’ve seen for the past two years. With an earlier launch we may see the phones for sale as early as October.

There’s likely a lot more to come on the Pixel 3 launch, so stay tuned.
