The latest flagship phone from Sony Mobile Australia is now available from Telstra, with the Sony Xperia XZ2 now available on plans, or for lease.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 is now available through Telstra on a range of plans, including the Go Mobile Plus, Go Mobile Swap Lease and My Business Mobile plans from Telstra in Liquid Black. The launch of the Xperia XZ2 on Telstra is big news for the manufacturer with John Featherstone, Managing Director of Sony Mobile Oceania saying

We are delighted to bring our new flagship handset, the Xperia XZ2, to Telstra customers. The XZ2 is our most powerful handset to date, packed with immersive entertainment features and boasting an impressive Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Coupled with Telstra’s 4GX network speeds, we expect this handset to give Telstra customers a great smartphone experience – especially when it comes to streaming and sharing entertainment content.

There’s a lot of content to consume on the handset too, with the Telstra plans including access to AFL and NRL games, as well as all the Netball action. Telstra users also get access to a 6-month Apple Music subscription, and Bigpond Movies as well.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 is the larger of the two handsets in the XZ2 series, though the Xperia XZ2 Compact is not unfortunately available through Telstra. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snadpragon 845 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage (with a microSD card slot up to 400GB). The phone comes with a 19MP rear camera capable of capturing 4K resolution video in High Dynamic Range – a first for a mobile phone camera sensor, as well as allowing you to capture bursts of super slow motion (960fps) in FullHD quality.

We’ve taken a look at the Sony Xperia XZ2 in our review and though we prefer the Deep Green colour option, the Liquid Black also shows off the new design of the phone, which incorporates the new 18:9 aspect ratio display.

If you’re in the market for the Sony Xperia XZ2 on a contract, then head over to the Telstra website and check out the range of options available now.
