The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was a great phone but the placement of the fingerprint sensor seemed like an afterthought. This year’s Note 9 promises to be more of the same but with a better placement of a fingerprint sensor and few other improvements.

Overnight a snapshot of the Galaxy Note 9 in the hands of Samsung Mobile CEO, DJ Koh, appeared revealing little aside from its existence. The photo shows the back of the phone as well as a black stylus — good to see that the stylus is not bright yellow after all. The rear of the phone shows that the renders that have appeared in recent times are correct: Samsung have moved the location of the fingerprint sensor, just as they did for the Galaxy S9.

Aside from these two tidbits there is very little else to ascertain from the image, but that hasn’t stopped other leaks giving more cryptic information. In other Galaxy Note 9 news overnight well known leaker Ice Universe Tweeted out that the new S-pen will have a whole new set of features including something related to gaming:

All will become clear in a few short weeks when Samsung announce the Galaxy Note 9 in New York. We are looking forward to the announcement and seeing what new features are bringing to a phone that looks extremely similar to last year’s iteration.
