It’s been a while since HTC launched a handset, keeping in line with the companies decision to slow down launches. So far the HTC U12+ has been very well received, but time moves on and it’s time for something new, and it’s coming on August 30th according to a new teaser.

The HTC social media accounts have begun teasing the launch with a fairly simple campaign that includes a textured background with a ‘U’ dominating it and the date. The tweet itself mentions beauty and power meeting, so hopefully we can expect a powerful, good looking handset

We’re fairly confident the rumour points to a second generation U12 Life handset running Android One being launched, with rumours of that device already circulating. The first generation U11 Life was a very nice phone, though the camera was slightly underwhelming, but it had all the looks and ran blazingly fast.

There are rumours on hardware for the U12 Life, which suggest the phone will have a 6-inch, 18:9 aspect ratio FullHD+ (1080×2160) resolution display with a Snapdragon 636 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage with a microSD card slot under the hood which will be IP67 dust/water resistant. A 3,600 mAh battery could be powering the phone.

HTC will ramp up the cameras on the U12 Life, moving to a dual rear camera system on the back with 16MP/5MP sensors, while the front will move from a 16MP sensor on the U11 Life to a 13MP sensor on the U12 Life.

Rumours about, but we’ll know for sure what HTC have up their sleeves on August 30th.
