Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL — where to buy, Australian pricing, availability and release date

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are now available for pre-order. They’re available officially from retailers Harvey Norman and JB HiFi, as well as from carriers. Yes, that’s right. One of the big surprises of the announcement this morning was that the Telstra exclusivity of the past two years on Pixel devices had ended, with Optus and Vodafone listed as partners.

We’re listing all the links to retailers and carriers who will be offering the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, so if you see an ‘unofficial’ retailer offering the phone in Australia let us know in the comments.

Google Store

The obvious way to get your Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL is to order via the Google Store, though you’ll see that there appears to be a 3-4 week wait, while carriers and retailers in Australia are promising November 1st shipping.

There’s no pre-order bonus for the Google Store, so no other incentive which is a big downer, so you’ll have to buy your Pixel Stand separately.

To pre-order via the Google Store you can head over now and go through the selection process. Google are offering all three colour options for the Pixel 3 across both sizes and storage options. Pricing wise, you’re looking at:

• Pixel 3 64GB – $1199
• Pixel 3 128GB – $1349
• Pixel 3 XL 64GB – $1,349
• Pixel 3 XL 128GB – $1,499

Retailers

Harvey Norman

Go Harvey, go Harvey, the folks on the web team at Harvey Norman are up early and they’ve listed the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL for pre-order. There’s no pre-order bonus for the Harvey Norman pre-orders unfortunately so you’ll just have to order that Pixel Stand separately.

It’s still early, so there’s missing models of the Pixel 3 XL, with only two models showing up on their site. It’s early days so we’ll have to check back shortly. Still, all the colour and storage options of the Pixel 3 are available as you can see:

JB HiFi

As with all the rest of the Australian carriers and retail sales, JB Hifi is not offering any pre-order bonus with the Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL.

There’s a couple of links missing from JB Search, with the Pixel 3 128GB Not Pink and Clearly White not showing up. I’ve included the links I can find here:

Carriers

Optus

Optus is first off the blocks this morning listing their pre-orders already offering all three colours – Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink – of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in both 64GB and 128GB storage options on their 4G Plus network on a range of 24 month contracts. There’s leasing options available if you’re interested as well – but we’re more focused on their 24 month plans.

Disappointingly there’s no pre-order bonus for the Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL when ordering through Optus, but there’s some decent plan options starting at $58 per month for the 64GB Pixel 3, or $68 per month for a 64GB Pixel 3 XL. We’ve listed the plans on offer below in a handy table for both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL :

Optus will be delivering the phones from November 1st, so if you want to get yours on that date make sure to pre-order early.

Telstra

Telstra has just opened up their pre-orders for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL – offering a bonus Google Home Mini when you pre-order either the Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL before November 1st. It’s no Pixel Stand, but it’s something. November 1st is also when Telstra is promising orders will ship by.

Telstra will be offering both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in 64GB and 128GB storage options in all three colour options – Clearly White, Just Black and Not Pink. There’s a range of plans available over 24 months, or for Lease. We’ve only listed the 24 month plan information here:

Telstra has put a link to pre-order the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on their main page, so if you’re wanting to pre-order the phone on Telstra you can head over and get your order in now.

Vodafone

Vodafone has finally updated their site advising they’re selling the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on a range of Red and Red Plus plans. Vodafone are allowing you to add on a Pixel Stand, Home Max and Home Hub as well if you want, just do it at the time of purchase.

Rather than offer plan + phone pricing, Vodafone offer interest free packages over 12, 24 and 36 months for handset purchases. You can leave any time you want, just pay off the phone.
