We all expected the Samsung Galaxy S10 to be revealed at MWC beginning in late February. Overnight Samsung has revealed that the next Galaxy flagship will be announced less than a week before MWC begins.

Samsung has announced through their press website as well as their social media channels that the Unpacked event to announce the Galaxy S10 will be held on February 20 in San Francisco. As you can see from the Unpacked teaser below not much is given away but if it is an indication of the size of the bezels on the Galaxy S10 then we are in for a treat.

We are expecting to see three versions of the Galaxy S10 at the Unpacked event including the triple rear camera, dual front-facing camera Galaxy S10+. We will get a look at Samsung’s 2019 solution for the notch with the Infinity-O displays as well as a look at their first attempt at an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.

With most of the world’s tech media focused on MWC beginning in Barcelona just a few short days later, February 20 seems a strange date for Samsung to be announcing their new flagship. No matter what date or time Samsung announce their phone it will overshadow every single other Android manufacturer announcement though so somehow this date suits them so they went with it.

With the date now just under six weeks away we expect to see more details revealed, unlikely by Samsung but definitely by the many leakers out there. Stay tuned.
