Last year OnePlus used a tear drop notch for the selfie camera on the OnePlus 6T in their evolution of the full screen display. This year it seems that they are set to introduce the pop-up selfie camera to their lineup.

We have already seen OnePlus’ sister companies Vivo (1,2) and OPPO replace their notches with a pop-up selfie camera so it should come as no shock that it appears OnePlus are doing the same.

Overnight renders of the OnePlus 7 have appeared online demonstrating said camera thus resulting in what is virtually a full screen display. Not only do renders appear but the site reporting it have also gotten their hands on a video of the device. The renders appear to be genuine, rather than those that are often leaked and are based on CAD drawings from case manufacturers (which are often accurate anyway).

Not only do the renders reveal the pop-up selfie camera but also a triple rear camera. The triple rear camera appears to be standard lenses so we expect a standard lens, a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide angled lens. The bottom lens is not rectangular shape so it appears we will not see a 10x lossless optical zoom just yet in the OnePlus camera like we will in OPPO’s phones this year.

Other features noticeable are the continued lack of a headphone jack- face it, it’s gone for good in most phones (but then we thought that about wireless charging a few years ago), a single bottom-firing speaker and their usual, and extremely useful, alert slider. The redners put the display at the 6.5 inch mark with dimensions being 162.6 x 76 x 8.8mm.

Specs included to arrive in the OnePlus 7 are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and no wireless charging. Not much else is known but OnePlus do love to spec their devices high end so expect nothing but some of the best in the OnePlus 7.

Last year the OnePlus 6 was revealed mid-May with it available to purchase a week later and given previous years we expect this approximate date to ensure this year. You can bet that we will be keeping a close eye on it in the coming months and with us having boots in the US around that time will do our best to try and get an early review unit.
