PC companion apps aren’t new in Androidland, but Microsoft has been building its own, an official Android-to-Windows feature called Your Phone (the companion app is Your Phone Companion) for a few months now, and is slowly adding new features.
One of the features they mentioned at launch is the ability to share the screen from your phone on your Windows desktop and interact with it with keyboard and mouse. The feature is yet to launch to the public (you need to be running an Insider build of Windows), but it is being actively developed by Microsoft.
This week MSPowerUser reports that Microsoft has added support for a few more devices from Samsung (Galaxy S10, Note 8 and Note 9 join the already-supported Galaxy S8 and S9) and OnePlus (the 6 and 6T models, only available on import here).
If you’re running any of those devices and you’re on the right build of Windows, you’ll be able to see and control your phone’s screen on your desktop.
Hopefully Microsoft is nearing official launch for the feature. We’d like to see that device compatibility list grow significantly before that happens though.
Until then, the Your Phone Companion app officially brings you easy access to the most recent 25 images on your phone as well as access to SMS messages.
