Motorola’s new One Vision phone is now available in Australia, launching exclusively with JB Hi-fi at a very wallet-friendly price of $499.
For your hard-earned, you’ll get a Samsung Exynos 9609 processor with 4GB RAM, 128GB storage and support for up to 512GB expansion via MicroSD. It’s all powered by Android One, which means you’ll get three years of timely security updates (and Motorola’s promising Android Q and Android R platform updates).
The One Vision is notable for bringing an exciting new design to Motorola’s product lineup, with a full-screen 6.3-inch face (there’s a punch-hole front-facing camera, like the Galaxy S10) at Full HD resolution, and one of the first phones to hit the local market with 21:9 screen making it taller in the hand and easier to hold.
There’s a dual-sensor (48+5) camera array on the back with Optical Image Stabilisation and offering a dedicated Night Vision mode, while there’s a big 25MP sensor on the front. The phone uses “Quad Pixel” technology to yield better low-light performance (that dual rear sensor array generates output images at 12MP). You’ll be able to do slow motion, time lapse and hyperlapse video effects with the camera too.
Powering it all, there’s a generous 3,500 mAh battery inside and support for “TurboPower” (15W) charging, which Motorola says will yield 7 hours’ runtime on 15 minutes of charging.
We’re looking forward to getting our hands on the One Vision to take it out for some testing. There’s a few entrants hitting the market with some pretty powerful phones at mid-range price points at the moment, so seeing how this stacks up against the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy A70 will certainly be interesting.

I do like Moto phones, I’ve had Moto G5, Moto z2 and now Moto G7 power, but there security updates do leave a lot to be desired. They also said that Moto z2 would get Pie, but they have reneged on that. So I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock in getting android Q or R
Moto One Vision is Android One. I think Google mandate the updates for Android One handsets.
Motorola said Z2 Force would get Pie when it launched in 2017?! in the USA. OS updates have hardware requirements. Maybe Google have introduced new hardware requirements and Motorola are focusing where they have the larger base. Apple have hardware/software breaks. Fake news
