We know just about everything there is to know about the Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup set to be revealed at Samsung’s Unpacked event next week. We are just waiting on local pricing but at this stage that is unlikely to arrive until after the announcement so we will have to make some inferences base don overseas pricing.
In the last couple of days we have seen South Korean and US pricing leaked and it may just not be as expensive as it could be — of course we do not know the extent of the Australia Tax to be applied so these are educated guesses at best.

The conversion of the Korean pricing to US pricing is fairly accurate given exchange rates so we hope that the conversions from US dollars to Australian dollars is the same. That would put the S20 lineup at the following prices:
- Galaxy S20: AU$1480
- Galaxy S20 Plus: AU$1780
- Galaxy S20 Ultra: AU$2075
These prices are direct conversions though and most manufacturers add around $100 for an Australia tax. While it puts the Galaxy S20 phones at a high level they are still priced extremely similar to their offerings in 2019.
With phones improving each year pricing has continued to increase each year — surely we have hit a limit where pricing increases cannot be sustained? Let’s hope that Samsung bring them here with very little to no Australia tax — they look to be great phones, hopefully they can be affordable to many people.
Adding the GST on to the direct exchange rate prices you list, gives these base refail prices, without Ausfailure Tax:
