In just five days time OnePlus will launch their first flagship for 2020 with the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. We have seen quite a few leaks and teasers of both their own making and from others and today they have continued to drip feed us teasers with a post on their forums.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau took to their forums today to talk about the design of the OnePlus 8. In the OnePlus 8 they have brought a fifth generation of their matte-frosted glass which Pete says is their best CMF (color, material, finishing) to date. They have been able to make it hazier than ever along with an “unprecedented smooth and fine texture” on the frosted glass.

The back of the glass is flattened out to create a “cleaner look” with the curves on the sides remaining resulting in a thinner profile and lighter weight and a “truly burdenless experience”.

After testing out more than 300 colour and texture combinations they settled on just a few — one of them being Glacial Green. Glacial Green is designed to invoke feelings of freshness, it being natural and environmentally friendly. Pete then shared a video showing off the new colour:

With just a few days left before the announcement there is not much left to be revealed but you can be sure that OnePlus will have something up their sleeves coming next Tuesday night. With aphone that is apparently thinner and inclusive of 30W wireless charging along with a top of the heap display you can be sure it is going to be a beast.

Stay tuned for more leaks and details in the leadup to Tuesday.
