Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the new Galaxy A31 and A71 5G joining the Galaxy A71 4G and A51 as the latest additions to the Galaxy A Series family.

The A series of Samsung phones were launched to offer more affordable options to their flagship Note and Galaxy S phones while giving users great battery, storage, camera, display and performance.

Unsurprisingly considering the state of the economy Samsung said 44% of the phones they’ve sold in Australia this year to date have been less than $1000.

The Galaxy A31 will be available from Monday, 18 May through Samsung online and all major retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and The Good Guys. It’s standout feature is the 5000mah battery.

Instead of a 2x 3x or 5x zoom lens all the Samsung A series 2020 models launched in Australia so far have a 5MP macro lens for closeups.

The Galaxy A71 5G will be available from Wednesday, 20 May through Samsung online and yet to be announced mobile carrier(s). It’s standout feature is being a-sub $900 5G phone that also has all the strengths of the A71 4G model.

The Galaxy A51 & A71 are currently available through Samsung online and all major retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys as well as selected mobile carrier partners.

Pricing and colour options for the A Series in Australia are as follows:

  • Galaxy A31 – Prism Crush Black and Prism Crush Blue $499
  • Galaxy A51 – Prism Crush Black and Prism Crush Blue $599
  • Galaxy A71 – Prism Crush Black and Prism Crush White $749
  • Galaxy A71 – 5G Prism Cube Black and Prism Cube White $899

Spokesperson for Samsung Electronics Australia Garry McGregor, Vice President, Mobile & IT said:

“The growing mid-tier market journey is well documented, for us the Galaxy A20 was one of the most popular smartphones of 2019. So, we understand that a large proportion of our local audience want to consider their spending, but also desire access to the latest technology.”

“We’ve responded to many consumer pain points around battery, storage and performance and delivered on those features we know Australians care most about like camera, display and design. A Series is one of the most exciting portfolios from Samsung that truly delivers on choice when it comes to affordable, quality smartphone technology.”
