According to a video posted by Samsung on YouTube, it seems the South Korean electronics giant may be the first to bring a device to market with three of the most popular voice assistants on board for concurrent use. Details are sketchy at the moment but the video clearly shows a Samsung Smart TV powered by Tizen using Bixby, Google Assistant and Alexa — although the jury is out on whether they actually use them concurrently.

This is been a much-requested feature out of a smart home device for many years. For those who live in a mixed digital assistant world, the hope of having one device with all of the Assistants in it seemed a pipe dream, now it seems that dream lives in a Samsung TV.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot of detail in the video nor can we find any correlating evidence on Samsung website sowe may well be interpreting it wrongly. If we are correct it may well be an important proof of concept for 3rd party smart speakers. If Samsung has truly pulled off a concurrent multi assistant device then this could radically change how people can access voice assistants.

If this is a success it may well provide a road map for other OEMs to replicate the functionality is all manner of form factors. If you want to check out the full video here it is below.
