Any Samsung flagship release garners a lot of attention and rightly so. They are the best selling smartphone brand in the world and the flagships are meant to be some of the best of the best in the world of smartphones. This year’s second Samsung flagship release is once again the Note series and it is expected to be announced in just four weeks time.

According to Korean news site etnews and Sammobile although Samsung has not officially announced the date for the online launch of the Note 20 series of smartphones it is expected to occur on August 5.

The day after the announcement pre-orders are set to begin with availability to customers coming a couple of weeks later on August 21. These dates and timeframes fit with previous Samsung releases so we have no reason to doubt them. It is no surprise that Samsung have their entire process unaffected by the COVID-19 virus. They have been doing this phone thing for a long time and how Korea has handled the virus is a great example to many other countries.

The announcement on August 5 is expected to be a big one with not just the Note 20 series announced but also the Galaxy Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. It is unclear when the Fold 2 will be available but it is surprising that Samsung are not giving this device its own separate announcement event. The Fold 2 represents the second generation of an entirely new form factor and deserves to stand alone.

We expect to hear a lot more about these announcements in the coming weeks as we build up to the dates mentioned above. While we loved the Samsung S20 devices we did expect a lot more from the cameras given the specs they contained — maybe the Galaxy Note 20 will be able to take advantage of the hardware unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
