Amazon is pretty good at tailoring recommendations of purchases to you based on your previous purchases and preferences. Now it is looking to do the same for your pets with a new feature called Pet Profiles.
Australian pet owners can now create a Pet Profile “providing them with personalised product recommendations and discounts on pet related items”. After creating a Pet Profile eligible customers will receive $10 off their next eligible purchase over $30 along with a gift in their pet’s birthday month. Pet Profiles will help owners/parents find suitable products for their pets based on the preferences filled out in the Pet Profile.
Aussies love their pets so we are excited to give Australian pet owners another way to demonstrate the love that they have for them. With the launch of Pet Profiles, Amazon Australia is hoping to make it easier for pet owners to find product recommendations personalised to the needs and preferences of their pets. As part of the launch Amazon Australia are running a competition to find the “pet and paw-rent [groan] duo that look the most alike”. The winning pet will receive a $1000 Amazon gift card, although I’m sure your pet won’t mind you spending some of that yourself, as well as a professional photo shoot with the photos appearing on Amazon.com.au. The winning pet will be crowned the face of Amazon Pets Profiles.
To enter the competition you just need to post you best look-alike picture to Instagram using #AmazonPetsAU as well as make a Pet Profile at Amazon.
Amazon, somewhere I would never think to look for pet supplies, already have hundreds of thousands of products including accessories, beds, travel products, grooming products, toys, care items and food, from top brands like Hill’s Science Diet, Pedigree, Supercoat and Greenies.
