Samsung’s on a roll with product launches tonight, with their latest wireless earbuds revealed at their Galaxy Unpacked event.

Galaxy Buds Live feature an all new bean-like design that sits in front of your ear canal but doesn’t extend into it.

The company is promising deep, rich audio with a 12mm speaker and a bass duct to give your audio some boom. There’s also active noise cancellation powered by 3 onboard microphones, an important feature when you’re dealing with personal audio products that don’t actually physically seal off your ear canal.

Samsung wants the Galaxy Buds Live to be comfortable enough for you to wear them all day, so the design really comes into play here – I find earphones and earbuds uncomfortable after a little while using them, and can’t keep them in for longer stretches so I’m looking forward to seeing how these buds work (and how they don’t fall out of my ears).

You’ll get all-day(ish) playback with 6h playback on one charge and an extra 15h held in the case (you should really be asleep for the rest of the day if not more). You will need to charge them, but they charge fast with 5m charging time good for 1h playback.

The new buds Galaxy Buds Live are the first product revealed tonight to get local availability – they’ll be on sale this Friday in Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze and Mystic White variants for $319.

If you’re preordering a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, hold off on purchasing the Buds Live as you’ll get them as a preorder bonus in some cases (depending where you order). Keep an eye out as there may be similar deals from retailers and carriers over the next couple of weeks, too.
