Last year TCL released the TCL 10 Pro, a really good offering that was in a tight market segment. This year, TCL has raised the stakes with an even sharper offering the TCL 20 Pro 5G that complements other releases this year.

It’s a sub $800 device that will meet the needs of a huge number of potential buyers, short of extreme users who really push their phones daily. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750, carries 256GB storage and 6GB RAM. The 6.67-inch, FHD+ curved screen sports 394ppi and has a high screen-to-body ratio to maximise screen space without being cumbersome.

The TCL 20 Pro 5G has a multi-camera array (48MP + 16MP + 2MP + 2MP) with a host of features that should give a pretty solid experience to users. All of this is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging or 15W wireless fast charging. The software is Android 11 with TCL’s own UI which, as we explored in the TCL 20 5G review, is largely a stock experience.

The physical size and capacity of the device are further blurring the line between phone and tablet. That is until you note that it’s the first device in the TCL range to support multi-screen collaboration:

Multi-Screen Collaboration will enable a more interactive, multi-screen experience, moving more smoothly across smartphone to TV, tablet and PC to access content, services and data. It will be enabled via an over-the-air software update to be announced shortly.

We’ll be getting hands-on with a review device very soon, but if you can’t wait for our review before you grab one Vodafone and Mobileciti will have them available from tomorrow. You’ll be able to pick one up in Marine Blue or Moondust Gray and, for a limited time (July 15 and 29) you can also claim a bonus TCL 43-inch Full HD LED Android Smart TV. This is by redemption adding $599.00 of value to your purchase. With the development in the mobile and multi-screen collaboration space, there are exciting times ahead for productivity and tech-junkies alike.
