In a significant, multi-year deal inked with the McLaren Formula 1 team, Google will display both the Android and Chrome logos. The deal is set to put Chrome and Android on televisions across the globe in one of the most lucrative sports on the planet.
The deal sees the team utilising Google technology (Chrome Browser and 5G enabled devices) throughout their operation. This includes on-track sessions aiming to improve on-track performance. One would assume that the drivers’ Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris will be sporting Pixel 6 Pro devices too.
Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing said:
We are absolutely delighted and proud to welcome Google to the McLaren Racing family. Google is a global leader in technology and has been a ground-breaking innovator in connecting people around the world. By integrating platforms like Android and Chrome across our operations, our team will be better supported to focus on driving performance.
As a fan of F1, I’m excited to see the world of F1 and online tech converging and am very excited for the season ahead.
