Evie Networks electric vehicle (EV) charging network has announced that it has opened a new site in the Northern Territory, beating competitors Tesla and Chargefox to a fast charger presence in the NT.

The new site located at Marrara Red Rooster, is now open and home to two Evie Networks 50kW DC fast chargers, making it the fastest electric vehicle public fast-charging site in the NT which is great but also shows how much more EV infrastructure Australia needs.

Chris Mills, CEO of Evie Networks said:

“We are committed to delivering accessible, everyday charging solutions to our customers and are excited to share that the Red Rooster Marrara site means Evie Networks officially has a presence in every state and territory in Australia.”

The partnership marks the second Red Rooster site following the opening of the Red Rooster Vermont Evie Networks charging site in July last year.

To thank Evie NT customers for their support, Red Rooster Marrara will give free regular chips to customers between 27 February and 1 March who show proof of charge at the Marrara site.

Coincidentally I used the Evie charger at Red Rooster Vermont late last year on a drive to the Yarra Valley while reviewing a Hertz Polestar 2 EV.

At the time this location also had an Evie new charger promotion of free hot chips.

It’s definitely more convenient to charge at a location like this that sells food and has decent toilet facilities compared to a charger that is just at the side of the road or in the corner of a public parking lot by itself.

Red Rooster/Craveable Brands’ Chief Development Officer, Simon Thompson commented:

“Our partnership with Evie is really starting to build momentum and I’m confident the success of this second site in Marrara NT will unlock a network of chicken and charging across the country- leveraging our A-grade network locations, with Evie’s passion and expertise.”
