The Conusumer Electronics Show (CES) will kick off officially in Las Vegas this week, but manufacturers are getting in early with announcements and Lenovo is no different announcing the Chrome OS packing ThinkPad 13.
Aimed at the education market, the ThinkPad 13 will come with mil-spec bodies designed to take some punishment and come in both Windows and Chrome versions. While the Windows model will be available with up to 16GB of RAM, only up to 8GB is possible in the Chrome version – still an improvement on most Chrome OS devices.
As the name suggests, the ThinkPad 13 will have a 13″ display and have a FullHD resolution. Storage wise you can expect to see a 32GB SSD included and powering it all is either a core i3 or core i5 processor. Lenovo has also advised the Chromebook will include a USB type C connector, as well as more standard dual USB 3.0 ports and a HDMI out.
Pricing and availability haven’t been announced for Australia as yet but the ThinkPad 13 will arrive in the US market for US$399 in June, so there’s some time for Lenovo Australia to announce local availability there.
