Acer Chromebook 14
Acer has become one of the biggest manufacturers of Chromebooks, releasing them fairly regularly and increasing in quality every time. The latest is the all metal body Acer Chromebook 14 which includes a nice big 14″ display.

The Chromebook 14 will launch next month in the US and Canada, where it will sell for $299USD or $399CAD for the ‘premium’ model which includes a FullHD (1920×1080) 14″ display, 32GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. There’s a cheaper model with 2GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD, though pricing hasn’t been announced for that model.

The one downside is that no mention is made of external storage such as an SD Card slot which has been fairly standard on Chromebooks. There will be 100GB of Google Drive storage on offer, but local storage may be limited, so the 32GB of storage is probably your best shot.

The Chromebook will come with an Intel Celeron N3060 processor, which allows for up to 12 hours of batter life, though if you downscale to the lower 1366×768 resolution you can eke out an impressive 14 hours of battery life.

The Chromebook 14 comes with all the goods when it comes to connectivity and slots, including dual-band 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac/a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 2x USB 3.1 Ports and a HDMI output.

Local availability here in Australia hasn’t been announced as yet, so we’ll be following up with Acer Australia for more information on that front.

Not as yet. Acer has unfortunately been very quiet on whether we’ll see this here.
