Asus has gotten in early with their announcements for CES, announcing the Chromebook Flip C302, a follow-up to the popular model released last year.
Just like the original, the Chrombook Flip C302 is a convertible form factor device with the ability to work in a tablet mode, but it’s also a step up from the original including an Intel Core m3 processor instead of the RockChip CPU which was seen by some to be underpowered. The C302 also ups the ante with the screen going to a 12.5″ size and raises the resolution to 1080P.
The C302 also includes 4GB of RAM (there’s also an 8GB model), a 128GB SSD (there’s a microSD card reader too) and it comes with dual USB-C ports only so you may need some adapters to get some of your peripherals working. The Chromebook includes a 39Whr battery so you should see all day use out of it, and it weighs in at 2.65lbs or 1.2Kg if you’re in the rest of the world.
Asus has announced that the C302 will go on-sale in the US from today for $499USD, no word on Australian availability but Asus did sell the Chromebook Flip here so there’s a chance we’ll see it here as well.
I assume we have to wait before it supports Android apps?
