It’s Wednesday, so to get you over hump-day Google has some great new deals on an app and a game in their now weekly App and Game Deal of the Week sale which sees an app and a game dropped from its normal price to a measly 20c each. This week we have The Mindfulness app and a game from one of the great software development companies, Team 17, called Flockers – are they any good? Let’s take a look.
App Deal of the Week
The Mindfulness App
The Mindfulness App is a guided meditation app, which offers you a series of meditation ‘workouts’ to help destress you and get you back to a relaxed and peaceful state of mind.
The app itself seems to be pretty well designed and it’s packed full of features, offering a choice of 3, 5, 15, and 30 minute guided meditations or silent meditations…with bells!! There’s a ‘Guided Body Scan’ and ‘Mindfulness Notices’ – whatever they are and you can set reminders to meditate and all your meditations are tracked so you can see your statistics. You can even design your own modified meditation using their guide.
If you’re into meditation then try out The Mindfulness app, at 20c it seems a good way to check it out cheaply and see if it’s for you.
Game Deal of the Week
Flockers
If you’re a fan of great games from the 90’s like Worms or Alien Breed, then the name Team 17 will be pretty familiar to you. Team 17 are the developers behind those titles and have brought Flockers to Android, and this week you can grab it for just 20c.
Flockers is a great little game, with a feeling very much like Lemmings. In Flockers, you’ll guide your flock of sheep as they make a break for it, avoiding all sorts of traps designed to kill them, like buzz saws, crushers and pits full of spikes. The sheep have special skills they can use to defeat these traps, including the ability to jump, fly and explode to destroy harmful machinery.
Flockers offers you the chance to get different looking sheep, with options for Zombie, Pirate or Robot sheep available – though be warned, Flockers is a ‘Freemium’ game, so with In-app Products worth between $0.99 – $4.60 per item, you could end up paying real money for them, though you can use the wool you collect in-game to purchase some of them.
Flockers looks like a lot of fun, so if you want to give it a shot check it out for just 20c now on Google Play.
Google Play’s weekly App and Game Deal of the Week are now live in Google Play – though when we say live, we mean they’re advertising it. Google seems to start dropping the price on the app and game around Monday/Tuesday every week, so if you’re looking around you may just stumble on them early.
