Oppo has a pretty decent following here in Australia. The well designed phones packing great specs at even better prices are hard to skip past, and the rumours for their new ‘Find’ series phone the Find 9 are hinting at a phone that’s going to be a winner.

The latest leak from China is pointing to some high end specs for the Find 9, including 21MP/16MP camera sensors on the phone, though no mention of the SmartSensor camera stabilisation Oppo announced at MWC last year is mentioned. The SmartSensor technology may be included as the leak mentions the new Super VOOC charging technology they announced at the same time.

The leak further ‘confirms’ that two variants of the phone one with a Snapdragon 835 SoC and the other with a Snapdragon 635 with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM will be released. Storage will also be in two configurations with the base level coming with 64GB while a 128GB model will be available too.

The final part of the leak mentions pricing of ¥3,999 Yuan or around $770 Australian dollars.

Previous leaks have also mentioned a 5.5″ 2K QHD resolution display with what seems to be almost no bezels on the sides of the phone.

Oppo has used the Find series previously to launch ‘firsts’, with the Find 5 the first phone with a FullHD display and the Find 7 carrying the distinction of being the first phone in the market with a 2K QHD resolution display. Launching the Find 9 with their new SmartSensor and Super VOOC charging could make for a good launch, because we all want our phones to take more stable video and charge faster.

Rumours for the launch peg an early to mid-2017 launch for the Find 9, but Oppo themselves have nothing to announce about the phone at this stage. It’s a matter of wait and see for now, with Samsung rumoured to have taken all the initial stock of the Snapdragon 835 for the Galaxy S8, so perhaps we’ll see it a little later than usual, but like most Oppo phones it should be worth waiting for.
